Favourite Products in 2015

''Invest in your skin, its going to represent you for a very long time''

Happy new year everyone. Here’s to a healthy, and happy 2016.

I spent most of last year living in and out of suitcases so I am happy to be settling down in one place for now.

One might say I have a lot of skincare products but Id have to disagree. I have a fair selection for when my skin needs some TLC. Our skin is always changing by the way- so no one product or brand will sort you out for the rest of your life.

If you still associate make-up wipes as skincare please read on.

1.Dermalogica Pre Cleanse Oil
Oh heavens above this is a mighty product.
It lifts dirt, bacteria, oil and debris from the skin along with removing waterproof mascara, and heavy make-up. Leaving your skin ready for a second cleanse. (first cleanse removes make-up & oil build up, second cleanse will clean and prep the skin for what's to follow)

You can buy from any professional clinic, salon or spa.

2.Hydropeptide Purify cleanser.
The main ingredients in this cleanser are Salycilic acidand mandelic acid and these are Alpha Hydroxy Acids. Anyone who is concerned with acne, oil, dryness, pigmentation(sundamage) or ageing should be looking for these ingredients in their products. This not only cleans the skin but it helps remove any build up consumed in the pores with the ingredient kaolin. I use this every night and I have it 5 months, there is still about ½ left in the bottle. It is definitely worth the price tag.

You can buy this product from http://hydropeptide.com/

3.Boots Botanics Clay Mask.
I searched the whole of Cork on Christmas eve to stock up on this mask again. It’s like gold dust. And I understand why, its cheap as nuts and it really improves any areas of oil, and breakouts on the skin. A total detox for the skin, especially needed after indulging over the holidays.

You can buy it here on http://www.boots.ie/en/Botanics/

4. Boot No 7 Hydrating Mask.
A miracle mask I like to call it. If you haven’t got sensitised skin then you must try this. It feels like silk on your skin and its great for the winter months. it’s a cream base mask that you can leave on for 15 mins or while you sleep. I only apply it while I sleep, because it penetrates deeper into the skin. Its super for your skin after a late night out, or too many vinos- those two really show the effects on your skin the next day.

Look out for the boots vouchers you get with your receipt- often give 6.50 off no7 products. http://www.boots.ie/en/No-7/Skincare/

5. La Roche Posay Skin Hydrater.
You could just call this a toner, but many people have the wrong ideas about toners. Back in the day there was a lot of alcohol in them which lead to skin dehydration. But nowadays they are filled with hydration and brightening antioxidants to help with skin dehydration. Such a great product to use after exercising or been outside for a few hours.

Most chemists.

6. Hydropeptide Stem Cell Serum.
I’m quite sad this serum has come to an end. It did my skin wonders. Stem cell ingredients act like protectors to the cells in our skin, putting a barrier around them and letting nothing attack them causing them to break down. Serums are a must in skincare if you’re wanting to treat a concern. They penetrate deeper than other products- therefore feeding the cells the stuff they need to keep growing and stay alive.

7.NeoStrata AHA lotion.
I was recommended this product by my doctor for keratosis pilaris on my arms. It took awhile to see any improvements (3-4 weeks). I then wanted to try it on my skin for underlying congestion and dryness on my cheeks. And Wow!. My skin was improved just over night. The 15% glycolic acid in this product has the smallest molecules in the whole AHA group so its able to penetrate skin deeply and easily- making it more effective for treating fine lines, acne, blackheads, dullness and oiliness etc.

Id use this 1-3 times a week and only at night. I feel a tingle when its put on my skin (not a burn) and I wash it off the next morning.

*Do not use this product if you have sensitive skin or if you have never used AHA’s before. Its very active and can leave your skin red and irritated.

8. Image day Cream with SPF 30
This cream was a little pricey but it has so much inside it was worth it. Image skincare has won so many awards for their products and I was dying to try them out. They were a little out of my budget but I don’t regret buying them because their ingredients are very good, containing vitamin c & e and lots of antioxidants.

9. Image Night Cream
This has similar ingredients to the day cream but just without the  SPF. It’s a little heavier than the day cream. I love how it feels on my skin.

Below are some snaps of other products I got in 2015 and Love.

Jo Malone Mimosa and cardamom, Bare minerals complexion rescue, essence concealer, Rimmel 1000 kisses lip liner (same colour as lips), max factor false lash effect mascara, penneys lashes and the one and only cocoabrown tan.
Mac lippies I bought in duty free in 2015- the collection will grow.
Tenor Voice, Viva Glam III & Faux
Stocked up on my favourite tan when I was home in Cork for Christmas, Santa knows me too well!
I Also got the new double sided mitt which is amazing. I can't buy these in Holland so I stock up when I am home,

Well, there you have it- the skincare & beauty products I was using throughout the last year and I will continue to use this year with the addition of some new ones.

Remember, the skin is an organ. Look after it. Invest in it.
You will thank yourself in a few years.

SPF should be worn every single day, 365 days of the year. Rain sleet or snow!

Lots of   Love
Katie
