Dry, Itchy, Flaky, Irritated Skin

''Good skin requires a commitment not a miracle''



Dry, itchy skin is the most annoying thing to have and it’s always around this time of year when its SO cold. I skipped winter last year because I was in Australiaand I didn't have this problem, obvs, the sun shines everyday… even in winter.

For the past week my skin has been so itchy and instead of using creams and lotions, I just started to us plain and simple Coconut oil. Coconut oil is 100% natural and pure, it can help the appearance of eczema and psoriasis.

The thing with dry skin in winter is we are constantly going from warm to cold. The heating is blasting indoors and then once we are outside we are freezing. This affects the skin big time and that’s why we need to change up our skincare routine in the colder months.

Diet & Stress can also influence skin changes like these.

TIPS FOR DRY SKIN ON THE FACE;
*Don’t OVER EXFOLIATE- this can cause serious irritation to the skin and damage the surface of the skin.
*Use a hydrating FACE MASK x1-2 week.Apply for 20 mins or leave over night. You will see a difference with both.
*Use a PRIMER when wearing makeup. This holds all the makeup in place and doesn’t allow for lines and creeks.
*Change to a richer moisturiser for more protection and HYDRATION.
*Make sure you apply SPF everyday even in rain or snow. This protects the skin from breaking down- cold winds can damage the skin big time causing broken capillaries.
*Don’t use too warm water on your skin. Luke warm is good.
*Always remove makeup with a cream base or gel based cleanser. NEVER USE MAKEUP WIPES. These dehydrate your skin even more.

TIPS FOR DRY SKIN ON THE BODY:
*Don’t use baby oil or any MINERAL OILS on the body. But use a good rich body cream or coconut oil.
*Use the exfoliating BODY MITTS x1-2 week and don’t go overboard with them.
*Drink lots and LOTS OF WATER to hydrate your body and skin from the inside out.
*Eat lots of OMEGAS to again hydrate and feed the body and skin from the inside out.
*If wearing TAN make sure you moisturising x2 day so the tan wears off well on your skin.

I got these samples from KIEHL'S last week & Iv heard great things about them and If they do a good job on my skin I will definitely invest.
